This is SGT Kang again. right before they ETS they go on ETS leave for like, 3 weeks or so. and the final week where they outprocess they dress up in the ROK Army uniform. he was about to leave and i just caught him before he left. he's sneaky, very very sneaky!

when the rents were here we went to a temple in Seoul. i can't remember the name of it, kathy maybe you can help me out in the comments section, but this is a pond that sat in the middle of it. there were kids playing around and running around all over the place. Korean kids are so cute. starting to bring back some memories, Mom and dad?

i just had to add this... this is what a vending machine in korea looks like.

myung dong

this is one of the popular shopping areas in Seoul. myung dong is an awesome place. this is actually a metal, maybe brass, plate on the ground that shows the shopping area's boundary. its about 4 square feet in size.

Seoul Tower

this picture was taken from right outside my battalion building. this is Seoul Tower, the famous tower in korea. you can go up to the top of it and there are 3 levels. 2 where you can take pictures from and the 3rd is a revolving restraunt. i went there with mom n dad but it was rediculously expensive so we just got a drink and left. if you look to the right you will see a smaller tower. that is the location of one of our sites. Namsan is a single tower site that is manned by a total of 5 people. and only 3 of them live up there. the rest are korean nationals.

Katusa ETS 2

SGT Kim took over the DJ's job when he hooked his guitar up to the speakers. he took over the stage. also there was a female college graduation party on the other side of the room. i think the guitar scene may have helped attract some attention. hmmmmmm. haha!

Katusa ETS

this is at a KATUSA ETS party. whenever a katusa or a group of katusa's are about to exit their time in servise (ETS) they throw a party. all they do is go to a restraunt or korean traditional bar and get drunk. they drink all kinds of Soju and man, let me tell you... Koreans can drink. from left to right... SGT Kim, SGT Kang, PVT Castro, and SGT Kim (chaplain assistant).

SSG McPherson

Rudy, Rudy, Rudy... haha! this was my first NCO in Korea. SSG McPherson. he was pretty cool, but a hell of a shammer... short timers disease they call it. when you are about 3 months out and you get that feeling that you don't want to do anything but chill, that is short timers disease. this guy was about 220 6'2" all solid muscle. he dressed up as Blade for halloween.

Lobo

when i first got here this was my roommate. Joe if you ever see this, shoot me an email or somethin. Our rooms are set up where there is a kitchen area, bathroom, and two bedrooms. so we do get our own room and personal space, I believe all my family knows this guy as lobello or lobo. not sure if you guys remember.
